Q: Has the Govt of Pakistan opened domestic gas connections on system gas?

No. The ban is still intact on system gas connections. However, Govt has lifted the ban on RLNG base connections.

RLNG (Re-Gasified Liquefied Natural Gas ) is imported natural gas

Is RLNG expensive / costlier than system (local) gas?

Yes. RLNG is costlier than system (local) gas but it is considerably cheaper than LPG. Moreover, it is safe and environment friendly fuel.

What is the policy about old connections installed on system gas?

The old connections installed on system (local) gas will continue on local gas rate.

What is the policy about those local gas connections which are disconnected?

The disconnected local gas connections will be reconnected on same rate within one year. After 1 year of disconnection, the re-connections will be processed on RLNG tariff.

How can RLNG connections be availed after lifting of ban?

The applicants who paid the demand notice (before the ban), may avail the RLNG connections after fulfilling the following:

• Signing of RLNG Contract
• Furnishing of an undertaking to convert /avail RLNG tariff based connection.
• Payment of Differential amount of security amounting to Rs. 15,500 (Total Security or RLNG domestic connection is Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 4,500 were earlier deposited)

The applicants whose system gas applications were not processed, may submit new applications for RLNG based connections.

How much are new RLNG based domestic connection charges?

For new RLNG based connection, the charges are as follows:

• Security (Refundable): Rs. 20,000/-
• Serviceline Cost: Rs. 1,500 for house upto 10 Marla and Rs. 3,000 for above 10 Marla

Where can the connection charges i.e. demand notice, urgent fee, difference of security for RLNG connections, etc be deposited?

The connections charges can be deposited in banks and through online channels like Jazz Cash, Easy Paisa etc.

Is any person authorized to receive cash for difference of demand notice, within SNGPL office or outside the office?

Not at All. Payment shall only be deposited in the Bank or online payment channels. No person is authorized to receive cash on behalf of SNGPL.

Can I pay connection charges in instalments?

No.

Will there be a Fast Track Scheme for RLNG based new domestic connections?

Yes.

What is the prescribed urgent fee to avail RLNG Based fast track domestic connection?

Rs. 25,000

Can I get a second/ additional connection for upper / other portion on RLNG, while I already have a gas connection on system gas installed to the lower portion of my residence?

Yes, you can get additional RLNG connection for the separate portion by following the policy in vogue and turn/ merit, after provision of requisite documents.

What would be the supply hours of RLNG Domestic Connection. Will it be supplied during cooking hours or 24 hours a day?

RLNG supply mechanism is similar to system (local) gas.

Is RLNG billed on flat rate or slab wise rate?

RLNG is billed on flat rate at present.

Will the bill of Domestic RLNG connection be received on monthly basis or weekly basis.

Bill of RLNG Domestic Connection will be furnished on Monthly basis.

Are monthly fixed charges imposed on RLNG domestic connection, as in case of domestic system gas connection?

No.

What is the difference between RLNG and System gas price?

RLNG price is notified as Flat Rate, while system gas is notified in slab-wise rate.

Will the connections of mosques and other religious places be processed on RLNG?

Yes.

Are there different application forms for new normal merit and fast track domestic connections?

No. The same application form has been designed for both normal merit and fast track. Our valued applicants can tick the option of their choice i.e. "Normal Merit", or "Fast Track".

No. The same documents are required for both categories.
