Transfer Of Gas Connection
Revolutionary Measures of SNGPL
to Bring in Ease of Doing Business & Customer Facilitation
Transfer of Active/ Disconnected Gas Connections Made Easy
SNGPL has taken a revolutionary step to make it easier for the valuable customers to get the connections transferred in their names.
- If the present user of gas connection is the owner/ joint owner or legal heir of the property, he/she can get the connection transferred in his / her name whether there is a proper legal ownership document or the sales deed is in the form of a stamp paper or there is a dispute over property etc. The consumer has to provide copy of whatever property document it is, along with the copy of his / her CNIC and an affidavit/ undertaking [Specimen link]. The security already deposited with SNGPL may also be transferred in the name of present owner in case of active gas connection. If there is a security shortfall, the consumers will not be bound to pay at the time of transfer of gas connection. The same may be recovered after transfer of gas connection through gas bill(s). However, in case of transfer and reconnection of disconnected meter, the security shortfall has to be deposited before such transfer/ reconnection.
- Where the consumer occupies a premises as tenant and the connection is active/ disconnected in the name of previous tenant, the tenant may also get the connections transferred in his/ her name. However, in case of tenancy NOC from the landlord is mandatory and the earlier security deposit is not transferred. Affidavit from Tenant is also required [Specimen link].
- There is no fee for transfer of gas connection.
General Guidelines to be Observed
- In all cases of transfer of gas connections, new gas sales contract will invariably be signed.
- For Affidavit, Non judicial Stamp Paper od Rs.100 issued in current dates in the name of applicant shall be used.
- There shall be restriction on withdrawal of security transferred in case of commercial and industrial consumers for minimum two years.
- In case of joint ownership, no need to obtain NOC from all co-owners. NADRA FRC may be obtained and kept in record. On gas bill, the title may be like "Faheem Ahmad and others".
